Mid-Town Square is an adaptive reuse, renovation, and redevelopment project at the corner of Walker St and Chatham St in Downtown Cary that includes the development of the new 25,000 SF Mid-Town Square class A office and retail building and the adaptive reuse and renovation of the 25,000 SF Mid-Town Shopping Center (c. 1971).
The office building is 2.5 stories, with 2,900 RSF of retail on the west side of the ground floor lobby and the remainder office. The 2nd floor has dedicated balconies fronting on Chatham and is designed to have an open ceiling plan, but can still accommodate a dropped ceiling if that better suits the tenant’s needs. The 3rd floor is a loft style space with direct access off the elevator, exposed wood trusses overhead, and windows extending the floor. Other design features include a reclaimed wood accent wall surrounding the elevator in the lobby and reclaimed wood accent walls by suite entrances on the 2nd floor. The building will operate on a full service basis.
The Mid-Town Shopping Center renovation includes new storefronts, awnings, and site work. The adaptive reuse of the shopping center includes the re-purposing of a former warehouse for brewery and taproom and the re-purposing of a former tire store for a private event venue.
From an amenity perspective, the shopping center is home to the Bond Brothers Beer Company brewery, taproom, and beer-garden, as well as Pro's Epicurean Market and Cafe. The office building is home to Pizzeria Faulisi, a wood fired pizza concept, and SideBar, a neigborhood bar with a craft cocktail focus.
Site work / construction for the project began in Fall 2015 and was completed in Winter 2017.
