Mid-Town Square is a renovation and redevelopment project at the corner of Walker St and Chatham St in Downtown Cary that includes the development of the new 22,250 RSF Mid-Town Square class A office and retail building and the renovation of the 25,000 SF Mid-Town Shopping Center (c. 1971).
The office building is 2.5 stories, with 2,900 RSF of retail on the west side of the ground floor lobby and the remainder office. The 2nd floor has dedicated balconies fronting on Chatham and is designed to have an open ceiling plan, but can still accommodate a dropped ceiling if that better suits the tenant’s needs. The 3rd floor is a loft style space with direct access off the elevator, exposed wood trusses overhead, and windows extending the floor. Other design features include a reclaimed wood accent wall surrounding the elevator in the lobby and reclaimed wood accent walls by suite entrances on the 2nd floor. The building will operate on a full service basis.
The Mid-Town Shopping Center is currently under renovation and is receiving new storefronts, awnings, and site work. The current phase of the renovation will be complete in the late Summer. A 2nd phase of the renovation will include the re-purposing of the tire store for additional retail space. That phase should begin late Summer / early Fall and be completed in early 2017.
From an amenity perspective, the shopping center is home to the new Bond Brothers Beer Company brewery, taproom, and beer-garden that had its grand opening on April 2nd,as well as Pizzeria Faulisi, a wood fired pizza concept that made its announcement on August 8th. The Bond Brothers Beer Company is a very impressive space (both inside and outside) that will be an excellent gathering point for the project and Downtown Cary in general; and Pizzeria Faulisi will be an outstanding restaurant operated by a passionate husband and wife team with very impressive credentials. The shopping center will also have a 2nd new full service restaurant with outdoor patio coming in adjacent to the Mid-Town Square office building.
Site work / construction for the office building began in November 2015, and we are scheduled for delivery in the Fall 2016.
Chatham Street Commercial is currently pre-leasing office and retail space within the Mid-Town Square Office Building.
